January 12th, 2011: Important information for restaurant employers! 

  The Department of Labor released the new wage order for the hospitality industry effective January 1st, 2011.  New laws include a minimum wage of $5.00/ hour for tipped employees, as well as clarifications on issues like illegal deductions and services charges vs. gratuities.  Further information can be found here.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT WORKSHOPS:

 The ROC-NY Women's Committee conducts Sexual Harassment Workshops in order to spread education about sexual harassment and foster healthy work environments for all workers in the restaurant industry. Workshops are generally conducted for the entire restaurant staff, but special management-oriented trainings are available upon request.
