You're Invited to Our 10th Anniversary Gala: 107 Stories Inspiring a ROC Movement
This year marks the 10th year anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Seventy-three workers from Windows on the World, the restaurant on the 107th story of the World Trade Center, lost their lives on that day. Several survivors came together to start ROC-NY, and later, ROC-United. From this tragedy, a movement to lift working conditions in the restaurant industry was born.
As this will be the 10th year since our founding, we are hosting a very special 10th Year Fundraising Gala, entitled "107 Stories,' where we will commemorate the former workers from Windows on the World. We will; also be featuring the stories of 107 restaurant workers who have inspired a ROC movement, not only in New York, but across the nation, as we have expanded to include 7 local affiliates in other cities.
Honorees: JOSH VIERTEL, President, Slow food USA, HECTOR CORDERO-GUZMAN, Professor, Baruch College & Former worker at Windows on the World.
We hope to commemorate and celebrate with you on September 8th!
