ROC-NY Unveils to the Public the New York City Restaurant Industry (NYCRI) Roundtable!August 4th, 2009
On July 7th, 2009, just days before New York City's acclaimed Restaurant Week - ROC-NY unveiled to the public the New York City Restaurant Industry (NYCRI) Roundtable. The NYCRI Roundtable is a regular convening of restaurant owners, workers, government agencies and city officials who meet regularly to address issues that affect the workplace, setting the trend for integrity, respect, and good working conditions in the New York City restaurant industry.
This year, the Roundtable proudly launched the first annual Exceptional Workplace Award, honoring restaurants that display exemplary workplace practices, and making that information known to diners. The Award was accompanied by the release of The NYC Diner's Guide to High Road Restaurants, a guide featuring several restaurants who understand that a prosperous business begins with fair wages and workplace practices.
